Inspiration Found: The Blood Show.
From Ae’s February issue.

There’s something about this that feels familiar– you know like I’ve seen it before. Hmmm. Hmmm. Wait, I got it.
It’s Mark Ryden.

Yeah, I’m not buying “Kattaca” for Art Direction on this shoot.
Hello.
We are glad to attract your attention to the fashion photoshoot and in some ways to do our this publicity. But only to explain several things, first is obvious that this was inspired by the work of Mark Ryden, he has two very well-known projects and called “BLOOD” & “THE MEAT SHOW”, “The Blood Show” is like named it the Meninas, Guernica or Gioconda, will well put the author, but of course that he made reference. Even though not entirely inspired in he, because the work has more inspirations still mixed, as is the work of Steven Klein with Alexander Mcqueen in 2002.
Mix Mark Ryden’s work on two projects paint as “the meat show” and “blow” in photography and mix it with the aesthetics of Alexander Mcqueen and Steven Klein for a fashion photo shoot is at least a very interesting project, which connects and merges the Vision of these three artists by means of our idea.
By the way in fashion, art direction, is the one person who handle the visual idea, the concept, and the production of the stage set.
A greeting from Spain
Oh hi, Kattaca. Bienividos a mi blog.
Guess I still need to learn a few things about fashion, huh? Thanks for clearing things up– though my commentary wasn’t meant to be disparaging. I like finding things that are influenced by other things. And it was interesting to me, at least to see an editorial spread that was so heavily influenced by Ryden’s work that it literally looked like a direct translation of his paintings made into flesh.
Thanks for commenting. Guess I must be hitting the big time now.
